Proskins Moto Gilet, £59.99
Miles covered/time: 700/two months
What’s good: This is a very lightweight body warmer that’s designed to be worn beneath your regular riding kit, and it does a very good job of living up to its windproof boasts. It’s been enough to keep the chills at bay on autumn commutes so far this year. The soft, stretchy fabric on the back ensures you get a decent, snug fit and it doesn’t look out of place when worn off the bike, either.
What’s not: It’s a little on the pricy side for a body warmer, but because you can get away with using this for dog walking, cycling or even general leisure-wear that price is just about jusified. Although it packs down tightly, it can be a little too bulky to wear under tight leathers, so much better suited to textile kit.
