What's good: Most of my attempts at bike maintenance have been embarassments. Something like the apes from 2001 angrily beating the ground with a bone. This has at least partly been thanks to inadequate tools. This Halfords kit has been a revelation. I have now been able to fit aftermarket exhausts to my Triumph, remove and replace the brake calipers and get the airbox off without scuffing, tearing or shearing a single bolt or screw.
The set is beautifully presented, excellently stored and extremely well-made. The sockets come in both metric and imperial measurements (4mm - 32mm) and includes combination spanners (8-19mm) as well as Torx and Allen key heads. The price may seem high but the professional quality easily justifies it. There is a lifetime guarantee and the kit is currently on special offer at £100.
What's not: Realistically, there are only so many sizes of socket you'll use on a modern motorcycle, making many of the extraneous sizes of spanner and hex reassuring rather than vital. I still would't give up a single one from this comprehensive set, though.
