What’s good: These universal fit handguards are simple to bolt on, have a clean design, are reasonably priced and give a huge improvement to weather protection on naked bikes.

They will fit almost all naked bikes and scooters and swop easily between bikes if you sell and change thanks to a variety of different bolts and bar end fittings. The ones I tested spent a year on an MV Agusta Brutale and transformed the protection.

Also, because the bike was white, the white handguards gave the impression of being factory fitted. The most impressive moment was shrugging off a high-speed pigeon strike that left the bird very dead.

Thankfully, my avian friend didn’t smash into the brake lever and have me over the front, which would have been a distinctly likely outcome if I’d not had these fitted. You can get a strip of LED daytime running lights for each side if you want the extra visibility.

What’s not: They don’t fit non-naked bikes. But to level this as a criticism is unfair. They don’t suit some bikes in terms of styling.

While the main handguards survived the pigeon hit, the small fillet insert did not and a replacement had to be fitted. Really nothing worth noting other than that.
