FastPack Tail Bag, $69.99 (approx. £58.35 including import tax and shipping)

What’s good? Some of the best ideas are the simplest ones. This tail pack simply fits over the pillion seat, with two Velcro straps underneath to keep it secure - simple to fit as long as you have a removable pillion seat like most sports bikes. With the bag compressed it’s added comfort for any brave pillions and it’s also grippier so they slide around less. Once expanded the bag turns into a small pillion bag. It’s somewhere to store waterproofs or a small amount of luggage on a sports bike. I never take it off my Kawasaki ZX-6R, even leaving it on for track days and speed testing, as it doesn’t spoil the look of the bike. It’s so convenient and small I usually forget it’s there, until I want to carry something small home from the local shop.
What’s not? There’s no way of locking the opening zip, so it’s not very secure and I wouldn’t want to store a mobile or wallet. It’s not 100% waterproof, which is not a problem for me as I only carry spare winter gloves or waterproofs, but clothes need to go in a waterproof bag. The sides are thin so if it’s overloaded it can flop to one side.
