Product Review: Oxford Track Pump with gauge
Oxford Track Pump with gauge, £29.99
Time used: Seven race meetings.
What’s good? When my twin-cylinder Sealey foot pump broke on me after just a year (letting air out of the tyre when you connect it), I decided to give this upright track pump a go. It’s more expensive than a conventional foot pump, but it’s easier to use, you can decant more air into your tyres with less effort and pretend you’re blowing up a power station, or a hand-operated train car, when using it. It’s lightweight, well-built and comes with a reasonably accurate gauge, which gets pressures in the ball park before setting them accurately with a dedicated gauge. A long hose and big connector makes using it on fiddly-to-reach valves a piece of cake.
What’s not? No problems so far.
