Product Review: Shoei kit bag

Shoei kit bag, £89.99

Tester Adam Child

Time tested: Three years

What’s good? This kit bag is large enough to take full race leathers, lid, boots, gloves, body armour and enough clothes for a week away. The end compartment is perfect for storing dirty or oily boots and there are two smaller side pockets to separate dirty and clean kit. Inside the bag there are two separate layers so you can keep your everyday clothes away from smelly leathers. You can get to the bottom layer without opening the top layer, so you don’t have to drag out your riding kit just to find a clean t-shirt, really useful. At 3.5kg it’s lighter than many bags, so it takes up less of the luggage allowance on an airline.

What’s not? The low weight means it’s lacking a little rigidity and strength and after around five foreign trips it started to look a little secondhand and after eight trips it’s battered but still usable.
