Product Review: Givi Xstream rucksack
Givi Xstream rucksack, £108.99
Tested for: Two months/1000 miles
What’s good? Versatile and well thought out, the Givi easily lugs everything I need for a day out or a day in the office. There’s a padded slot to carry a 15in screen laptop (or more likely these days, a tablet), pockets to keep things organised in the main compartment, a soft-lined pocket for glasses and a helmet lugger that zips out from underneath. It’s comfortable on the move, too, with chest and waist straps to distribute the load. So far it’s been shower-resistant, but there’s a fluro rain cover that zips out and clips on. Finally, you can currently save a tenner if you buy via MCNshop.com.
What’s not? The laptop pocket isn’t covered by the waterproof cover, but it sits right next to your back and hasn’t let any water in so far. You could always protect any electronics with a plastic bag. Also, the excess on the chest strap can flap about if it’s not tucked under the elasticated loop.
