Product review: Icon Squad 2 backpack
I tested this Icon Squad 2 backpack (RRP £146) for one year, covering 10,000 miles.
Here's how I got on...
The Squad 2 is Icon’s biggest backpack, and has a total volume of 53.3 litres – and so far it’s swallowed whatever I’ve chucked in there with ease. There’s a padded laptop sleeve in the main compartment which can take laptops up to 15in and has kept my work computer free from scuffs.
There’s plenty of reflective material on the Squad 2, and combined with the orange (it also comes in yellow or black) it makes for a very striking backpack. There’s a helmet carrying compartment, which is a nice touch.
What’s not good?
This bag has been used pretty much every day for 12 months, but it’s not held up as well as I’d hoped. One of the straps was the first thing to go, detaching when the contents were a little too heavy.
Tie wraps sorted the problem. The second issue is the outer material on the chest strap system tearing for no apparent reason.
