RST’s Pro Series Adventure 2 has a lot of features for the price you pay. It should definitely be on your list of considerations if you want a jacket that can do everything but don’t want to pay through the nose for it. It’s tailored more for Adventure and upright riders and is constructed from a Cordura outer and features two removable liners; one being a thermal offering, with the other being waterproof and breathable and which also features RST’s Sinaqua membrane. Armour is CE approved in the shoulders and elbows and it comes with a level 2 CE back protector.
Versatility is in the nature of the Rev’it Neptune jacket. Deciding to feature a removable Gore-Tex layer as opposed to featuring a fixed membrane has meant that riders can keep cooler when it’s hot, while staying dry when its wet and warm when it’s cool thanks to the detachable thermal liner. The outer material is a high-density polyester with a Teflon coasting for added strength and there is also CE approved armour at the shoulders and elbows with the option to fit a separate back protector too.
Nothing beats that first day of riding in the spring when the evening has started drawing out and the temperature creeps up and away from single figures. It’s about that time for the sportsbike to come out of hibernation. The Richa TG-2 is a jacket that is both practical and stylish. It offers all round versatility thanks to its removable thermal and waterproof liners and also comes with CE approved armour at the shoulders, elbow and back and when it gets hot, you can zip out the liners and take advantage of the perforated outer to regulate temperature.
The new Raptor jacket from Furygan is constructed from full grain 1.4mm leather and is water resistant so will keep you dry if you happen to get caught out by the odd shower. It also features a removable thermal liner that should help if it gets a little colder and D3O CE certified armour in the shoulders and elbows.
Oxford’s Highway jacket gives classic design at an affordable price. Its perforated to help keep the rider cool when the weather is warm and features a removable thermal liner for when it gets a little cooler. Impact protection comes from CE approved armour in the elbows and shoulder and there is also a pocket to fit an additional back protector too.
Buse have been around for a while, and though relatively new to the UK, have a big following in Germany. The Laguna jacket is the top half of a two-piece offering and has a sporting but casual look. The jacket features a 1.2mm leather construction and has Polyamide reinforcements for some extra abrasion resistance. The seams have been triple stitched for added durability and it also features CE certified shoulder and elbow protection with a pocket for an additional back protector.
