Senior Reporter Andy Downes is on his way to ride the new Ducati XDiavel, Ducati's first serious foray into the modern cruiser market, after the release of the Diavel in 2011. Ducati have also revealed the draXter, a concept bike based on the new XDiavel, which could be a precursor to a new model.

We've scoured MCN Bikes for Sale to find some of the best examples of performance cruisers already on the market.

Harley-Davidson V-Rod, £11,600

Harley-Davidson's V-Rod introduced water-cooling, loads of power and decent handling to the Milwaukee firm's range, while the Muscle variant as selected here, opted to focus more on focused more on straight line speed and acceleration. Not popular with Harley die hards, but good bikes if you're after something a little different.

Triumph Rocket III, £8,494

On paper the Rocket III is an absolutely insane motorcycle. A 2294cc three-cylinder engines pumps out 146bhp, and a staggering 163ftlb of torque. If you want something that has bags of presence, a stonking motor and classic cruiser styling, the Rocket III is for you.

Ducati Diavel, £8,495

With the introduction of the Diavel in 2011, Ducati added performance and genuine sporting ability to a class of bike where it simply didn’t exist before. Although it has the same engine as the Multistrada, an extra 12bhp was unlocked, making the Diavel quicker than an 1198 upto 100kph. A true performance cruiser.
