Historic Italian manufacturer MV Agusta will have to get smaller if it is to survive, according to company president Giovanni Castiglioni, and focus more on the high-end models it is best known for.
There are over 100 MV Agustas currently up for sale at MCN Bike for Sale, and we've picked out some of the best below.
The MV Agusta F4 750 was the most eagerly awaited slice of Italian superbike exotica pretty much delivered on all counts. Spec, build quality and handling were there to match. An instant classic and coveted and collected in equal measure.
Usually the creators of expensive, aspirational bikes, the Brutale 675 brought MV to the mass market. At £8299 it wass not only cheaper, astonishingly, than the Japanese competition, it was finally an MV you could afford and want.
The 990R is refined, roomy and easy to ride, but still has more than enough power to keep you amused on road and track. The fuelling and ride quality aren’t quite as smooth as the more expensive 1090RR but these things are only noticeable if you ride the bikes back-to-back. On its own it’s still a cracker.
They don't get much more exclusive than the track-only F4 Veltro Pista - only 23 examples were built. The fairings, tail, airbox, mudguards, air ducts, heat shield and fuel tank are all made from carbon fibre and magnesium frame plates. It also has lightened frame, oversized radiator, and a magnesium triple clamp and swingarm. It's probably not going to be cheap.
