Why it’s now or never if you want to get your hands on a Victory motorcycle
Following the news in January that American conglomerate Polaris would no longer be producing motorcycles under the Victory name, dealers say that stocks of the distinctive American machines are running critically low whilst interest has reached an all-time high. As a result, prospective Victory owners need to act fast in order to get their hands on one.
“Stocks across Europe are now dwindling,” says Paul Dobb of Victory dealer Blade Motorcycles, Swindon, “and we literally only have a couple of totally new bikes left in the showroom. Once they’re gone they’re gone so buyers should not wait. Interest in Victory has spiked again following the news that production has ended, so don’t expect too many discounts on brand new models, although if you’re quick you’ll be able to get good deals on one of the few pre-registered bikes knocking around. We’ve got a pre-registered Judge for sale with £2000 off the list price, but we don’t expect it to be around for very long at all.”
Unlike other bike manufacturers who’ve previously ceased production, Victory owners do not need to worry over uncertainty regarding future spare parts availability.
“We’re in an interesting situation with Victory,” says Paul, “because while they’re no longer producing Victory motorcycles, parent company Polaris are still very much in business as they’re a huge $5 billion operation and they still produce bikes under the Indian brand. So therefore all Victory models will still be supported with parts, as well as having their five-year warranties honoured. But I can’t stress enough that it really is now or never if you want to own one of these brilliant bikes.”
