The short, the long and the tall: Bikes for all riders

Bikes for sale

People come in all manner of shapes and sizes, but luckily so do motorcycles. No matter your height or size there's sure to be a bike out there that's a good fit for you.

Below is a selection of bikes currently for sale at that we think will suit any rider, no matter their height.

Honda MSX125, £1,975

With a seat height of just 765mm the Honda MSX125 will suit almost anybody, including taller riders who don't mind looking a bit daft. Don't be fooled by the miniature looks of the MSX, it's a seriously good motorcycle that makes inner city riding a lot of fun and puts smiles on peoples' faces.

This example is great value at under £2000 and comes with some bling extras. If there's anything better than a standard MSX it's one with some aftermarket accessories.

Ducati Multistrada 1200 Enduro, £14,995

A seat height of 870mm puts the off-road Multistrada firmly in giant territory, but it's not just the height of the seat that makes it a struggle for shorter riders, it's the width of the 30 litre tank.

If your legs are long enough that most bikes cause you discomfort over distance the Multistrada would undoubtedly fit. They're not cheap, but if you need the extra leg room and like covering distance in style there's not much better.

Harley-Davidson 883, £6,382

Surprisingly the 883 has a lower seat height than the MSX125 listed above at 760mm, but with the added bonus of being a full-sized motorcycle with full size wheels and a thumping V-twin engine. Although it's lower than the MSX it may feel higher due to the extra width of the bike and there's a bigger reach to the bars.

This example hasn't covered many miles and looks in good condition. Cheap, too.

BMW R1200GS Adventure, £7,800

You knew this bike would pop up here, didn't you? Surprisingly the seat height is 20mm higher than that of the Multistrada at 890mm, but it's a little narrower so it's not uncommon to see shorter riders riding an Adventure.

You know what you're getting with the R1200GS - they're incredibly capable machines. There's a reason they're so popular and although this bike's covered over 30,000 miles it's probably good for 30,000 more.

Triumph Street Twin, £7,999

Remarkably the Street Twin has a seat lower than both the Harley-Davidson and the Honda, but much like the Harley it's slightly wider than the MSX. If you don't like cruisers or bikes with tiny wheels, the Street Twin is a brilliant roadster for those a little smaller in stature. As cool as the Street Twin looks, riders over six foot look slightly less cool.

This almost-new example isn't cheap but it comes with the scrambler accessory pack to set it apart from standard examples.

Honda F6B, £11,995

The shortest bike here with a seat height of 725mm, the F6B is perfect for those who prefer or need to have their legs a little straighter. It might be the shortest in terms of height, but due to its huge size and weight it will be a struggle for shorter riders.

You don't see many of these in the UK, but they're good cruisers with a smooth engine, if a little pricey.
