5 Yamaha MTs for under £10k

Bikes for sale

Yamaha have done something right with their MT range of motorcycles, with most of the models having picked up at least one of the coveted MCN Awards over the last few years.

We thought we’d have a little look to see what’s currently available on MCNBikesforsale.com.

2016 Yamaha MT-10, £9,399

Seller says

“Blue, 1 owner, registered in June 2016 on a '16 plate and now with just 4500 miles. This is our very own demonstrator which is now ready to be unleashed! Presented in blue this amazing bike could be yours & she's gagging for a new owner to keep her under control, as she can be quite feisty. But having the different rider modes you can adjust her to suit your personality! Still benefits from manufacturer's warranty until June 2018 plus outstanding RAC cover until June 2017. Factory fitted 'YISS' immobiliser and Datatag ID Security. Also fitted with loads of Evotech goodies including Radiator and oil cooler guards, folding levers, tail tidy, front and rear spindle protectors, crash bungs, paddock stand bobbins and mirror extenders.”

MCN Says

“The Japanese finally produced a bike that plays the European super nakeds at their own game with the MT-10. It sits somewhere between an aggressive Aprilia Tuono V4 1100 and a softer Suzuki GSX-S1000 - it’s in the middle ground where the Triumph Speed Triple lives. The Yamaha MT-10 is fast, fun and practical. It’s a fitting flagship to the successful MT range of bikes.”

2015 Yamaha MT-09 Tracer, £6995

Seller says

“Yamaha MT-09 Tracer, 850cc, Manual 6 speed, 2015 15 Reg, 5,085 miles, red, full service history. All original books, 2 keys and comes fully serviced. It's presented in fantastic condition and is great value with just 2 Owners, also comes with a 3 Months warranty. ABS & Traction control as standard.”

MCN Says

“This is a seriously good bike at a seriously great price. We already knew the MT-09 platform had shades of greatness. With that stonking triple’s fuelling ironed out its status is confirmed: it’s both immensely versatile and thrillingly invigorating. The chassis, now the fork settings have been tweaked, is without criticism. The Tracer now adds to that with decent range and comfort, excellent all-round ability and impressive spec and sheen – without hurting that value at all. It’s great fun, characterful, useful and a bike for all seasons.”

2013 Yamaha MT-09, £4695

Seller says

“Yamaha MT-09, 847cc, 2013 63 Reg, 12,067 miles and finished in orange. Comes with a tail tidy, crash bobbins, full service history, all original books, 2 keys and also comes fully serviced. It’s in fantastic, as-new condition and is great value. It has just 1 previous owner and comes with a 3 month warranty. Also comes with a Yamaha screen, braided hoses and radiator grill.”

MCN says

“The MT-09 is a worthy rival to Triumph’s mighty Street Triple. Experienced riders will love the power from its 115bhp, 850cc three-cylinder engine, its ability to do easy stunts and the huge reserves of ground clearance available. Newer riders will enjoy the motor’s flexibility, light weight and low seat. It’s as happy doing the daily grind as it is whisking you off on holiday and best of is great value for money. But all this good stuff is let down by poor ride-by-wire fuelling in all but its softest riding mode and crude suspension, especially on the first generation.”

2014 Yamaha MT-07, £4,499

Seller says

“Comes in metallic white with 3 months warranty and a fresh MOT and service before sale. It has had 3 previous owners, and also comes in good condition with full service history, excellent bodywork, 2 keys, Top Box, Puig Tinted screen.”

MCN says

“The MT-07 is light, friendly, punchy, fast, frugal and more fun than it has a right to be. We reckon for everyday use and shorter-distance riding it’s actually better than the bigger, more expensive, MT-09. It’s such a superb performer and well built, the MT-07 would still knock us sideways if it was a grand more expensive, it’s simply amazing.”

2017 Yamaha MT-03, £3,699

Seller says

“Yamaha MT-03. Great Savings to be had on a pre-registered 2017 bike. Comes on a ‘66 plate with a full 2-year warranty. Full documentation pack and personal handover, low rate finance is available.”

MCN says

“Visually stunning and mechanically sound, Yamaha’s “roadster motard” is an ideal urban/commuter tool. It gives you more than enough fun if you want some bendy weekend scratching too. Handling is superb but just a little more horsepower would’ve really broadened the Yamaha MT-03's appeal.”
