Why it’s MCN’s pick:
Watching Michael Dunlop take an emotional win at the Isle of Man TT on his Tyco BMW S1000RR in the supersport got us thinking about where it all started for the German manufacturer’s first top-end superbike.
Launched in 2009, the S1000RR took aim at the big boys (ZX-10R, CBR1000RR, GSX-R1000 etc.) and it didn’t disappoint. The claimed 190bhp engine was the star of the show, but variable engine modes, ABS, traction control and a quick shifter made it an impressive machine all-round.
What the seller says:
“Immaculate 2014, 14 plate, BMW S1000RR with sport ABS. The bike has had 2 owners from new and has covered just 7,395 miles with full service history. The bike has been fitted with several extras which complement the bike perfectly including Gilles levers and rear sets, RandG tail tidy and paddock stand bobbins as well as a black tinted double bubble screen and black belly pan which keeps the cat out of sight.”
