Bike of the Day: Aprilia Caponord 1200

Published: 23 May 2018

Why it’s MCN’s pick

Unveiled in 2013, Aprilia’s Caponord 1200 had all the elements to be a successful adventure bike but for some reason it failed to sell. Bad news for Aprilia, but good news for used bike buyers as it is now a very cheap, and fully-loaded adventure machine!

Boasting a 125bhp V-twin and an electronics package that includes traction control, ABS and even semi-active suspension (one of the first bikes to have such a system), the Caponord deserved to sell far better than it eventually did. It’s the typical Aprilia issue, they build a great bike, but buyers always stick with what they know and in the case of adventure bikes, that’s generally a GS!

If you are prepared to think outside the box, the Caponord 1200 is worth a look as it is well equipped, comfortable and above all – it’s not a GS!

Seller says

“A 2014 Caponord with 15,068 miles on its clocks. Finished in grey, this bike has ABS, semi-active suspension, power modes, Brembo brakes and is a great all-round adventure bike. Comes fully serviced with 12-months MOT and a full service history.”
