Bike of the day: Kawasaki Ninja ZX-10R

Kawasaki have enjoyed a purple patch in WSB racing, however that wasn’t always the case and today’s bike of the day celebrates the first ZX-10R to win a WSB race.

The 2006 ZX-10R wasn’t the most popular of generations as it was a bit fatter and less wild than the original ZX-10R, and its underseat pipes earned it the unfavourable nickname of ‘the wheelbarrow.’

But against all odds, Chris Walker won a very wet race on the ZX-10R at Assen in 2006 and brought Kawasaki their first litre bike race win. It was one amazing ride…

In the used market, prices for this generation are starting to creep up. It’s no longer unpopular and it doesn’t take much to turn this slightly lardy Ninja into a full on Bruce Lee!

What the seller says

“Here we have a summer bargain trade sale. It is a tidy, unmolested 2006 Kawasaki ZX-10R, it has done 31k miles from new and has just had a new front tyre. It also has a tinted double bubble screen and a meta alarm immobiliser, the rear tyre is good as are the chain and sprockets.”
