Why it’s MCN’s pick:
MCN are riding Honda’s latest generation CB1000R today, but the new CB has what Honda are calling ‘modern café racer’ looks, which aren’t to everyone’s tastes. If they don’t float your boat, the older generation may be more your thing.
Powered by a re-tuned Fireblade motor, the CB1000R was released in 2008 and while certainly not the most thrilling of super nakeds, has a very smooth and turbine-like motor. The single sided swingarm looks cool and the suspension and chassis work well. In fact, it’s just one of those bikes that seems to get on with the job in hand with minimal fuss.
If you are in the market for a powerful, but practical, naked bike then the CB1000R is well worth a second look.
“A superb example of the Honda CB1000R that has been fitted with some very cool extras. This bike has a Bazzaz unit installed providing custom mapping, traction control and a quickshifter. Also fitted is a Mivv exhaust, front paddock stand bobbins, R&G crash bobbins and a colour coded seat cowl. The bike is in lovely condition with minimal weathering and well cared for bodywork. It comes with the owner’s manual, service book with a partial history, spare keys and lots of old invoices in the document pack as well as 12-months MOT.”
