Why it’s MCN’s pick:

KTM may have abandoned their road-going sportsbike last year, but the firm is still very much in the MotoGP paddock, especially since Tech 3 was recently confirmed as having turned their back on Yamaha for KTM. So why not show your support for the guys in orange by riding to the Silverstone MotoGP round this year on a KTM superbike – the RC8 R. The RC8 R was designed to beat Ducati’s 1098, but it never really captured riders’ imaginations in the same way – especially as it lacked the flashy electronic assists. But don’t write it off, this V-twin makes a thumping 175bhp and has an excellent chassis, unique looks and thanks to its lack of electronic assists, is very engaging to ride. When you look at the price of an RC8 R in comparison to a Ducati 1198, it’s also pretty good value. And very, very loud with an Akrapovic fitted!!!!

Seller says:

“KTM 1190 RC8 R in white and orange with 14,124 miles and in completely standard trim and in great condition. It is pretty safe to say that the RC8 R is a true piece of engineering art. The motorcycle has all it needs to be considered one of the most capable superbikes in its segment and is powered by one of the most powerful V2 engines of our times.”
