The Ducati Hypermotard 796 very nearly took a clean-sweep of 5-star ratings when MCN reviewed it in 2009, only falling down with a 4-star score for equipment. The 803cc, entry-level version of Ducati’s road-going supermoto clearly impressed us a great deal.

Whether you’re slaying traffic through town or scratching your way along a B-road, the Hypermotard takes some beating. Obviously, it’s less powerful than its big brother, the Ducati Hypermotard 1100, but it’s also lighter and lower. This, coupled with the smooth delivery of power and slipper-clutch (which comes as standard), makes for a more enjoyable riding experience.
Aside from how great it is to ride, the Ducati Hypermotard also looks fantastic; with a single-sided swingarm, underseat exhausts, and characteristic, beak-style front mudguard.
