Today’s bike of the day is the immensely fun Honda CRF1000L Africa Twin. In 2016 MCN rode this machine and praised it as "the adventure bike the world has been waiting for."

Despite its tall seat height (870mm) an ergonomic design that is narrow at the tank means it is perfectly manageable even for less experienced or shorter riders.

In fact, its relatively small dimensions are a breath of fresh air in the current 1200cc and beyond adventure bike class and in comparison to machines like the BMW GS, the Honda almost looks like a crosser.

When standing up off-road, it’s easy for the rider to get their weight forward over the front while putting pressure through the footpegs to assist steering and grip.

The brilliant fuelling and throttle connection makes for rapid progress combined with the 94bhp motor. It may be lacking slightly in bottom and mid-range engagement compared to the BMW R1200GS and tops out sooner than the KTM 1190 Adventure but that doesn’t mean it’s slow.

Grantham Honda say: "This 2016 Honda Africa Twin is seriously great value. Less that £7000 for an Africa Twin with just 18,130 miles on the clock? Sounds like a no brainer!

"The bike is finished in red and comes fitted with Honda engine bars and a Honda fog light kit. It is presented with a full service history and is in fantastic condition, come and have a look, you won’t be disappointed."
