The Kawasaki ER-6n is a brilliant middleweight naked, perfect for commuting or earning some riding experience (it will need to have a restrictor fitted for A2 licence holders).

Kawasaki have managed to get the most out of basic components and the resultant bike is engaging to ride with a characterful parallel twin engine and an attractive price tag.
The second generation ER-6n (like this one) makes 72bhp from its 649cc engine, which is plenty to keep you ahead of the traffic and is perfectly aligned with middleweight competitors like the Suzuki SV650 but less than the slightly later Honda CBR650F.
What’s more, a wide spread of torque means that acceleration is almost always accessible regardless of what gear you are in, making real world riding a doddle.
Kawasaki tidied up the messy dash of the previous model on this version and it includes a digital tachometer and analogue speedo, plus a handy fuel gauge.
The bike is slightly taller than the first generation ER-6n, but it is slender and easy to manage so this shouldn’t dissuade less experienced or shorter riders. If the lack of fairing puts you off then maybe consider the Kawasaki ER-6f, the faired version of the bike.
The bike pictured is available from Robinsons of Rochdale, who say: "This 2012, 62 plate Kawasaki ER-6n is a nice, standard bike with just 9601 miles on the clock. It comes with three keys and its service book (with three stamps).
