Steve Hislop stormed to a runaway race two victory at the opening round of the MCN-sponsored BSB series in Silverstone today.

The MonsterMob Ducati rider finished seven seconds ahead of John Reynolds on the Rizla GSX-R1000 in second and race one winner Sean Emmett in third on the IFC Ducati.

Afterwards Hislop told MCN: ” There was no way I was going to lose this one. After the disappointment of the first race I just had to get my head down and do a Bayliss…so I did! ”

Reynolds said: ” I just couldn’t keep up with Hislop. His Ducati was just too quick and our GSX-R1000 still needs more work to be competitive. ”

Michael Rutter was fourth, Paul Brown fifth and Steve Plater sixth.

The race was run in two stages after John Crawford crashed his GSX-R1000 heavily on lap five.
