Aussies strike gold in speedway final

AUSTRALIA lived up to their favourites tag by winning the speedway world

cup final at Peterborough on Saturday night.

The Aussies wrapped up the title with 64 points, seeing off Denmark (58), Sweden (54),

Poland (48) and the Czech Republic (36). It was the second world cup victory for Australia in as many years.

Aussie rider Leigh Adams told MCN: “It was a fantastic job from all the boys. It was hard work, but we did it.”
