Frederic Bolley switches to road-racing

Frederic Bolley, the two-time 250cc motocross World Champion has announced his retirement from motocross at the end of the current season. The 28-year-old Frenchman has decided to make the move despite holding fourth in the championship and claiming five podium positions so far this season.

The main reason for the decision is that Bolley, who won the 250cc championship in 1999 and 2000, is not getting the same enjoyment from motocross, and prefers riding his Yamaha YZF-R1 on the track.

No announcement has been made regarding next season, but Bolley aims to compete in Supersport 600 racing, and also intends to race Supermotos if his schedule allows it.
