Rutter takes Superpole

1 of 1

Michael Rutter shot to the front of the grid for tomorrows MCN British Superbike at Mallory Park.

Rutter and Renegade Ducati teammate were only split by championship leader Steve Hislop, with all three under the 47 second barrier. Reigning champion John Reynolds completed the front row on the Rizla Suzuki.

Sean Emmett is the only real threat to Hislop taking the championship, and he has kept his hopes alive with a fifth place on his Ymaha R1. He qualified ahead of Glen Richards, Karl Harris and Dean Ellison.

Richards, on his local circuit, lost his fifth position in Superpole after a mistake at Lake Esses, but it was worse for Dean Ellison, who dropped to sixteenth position after stalling his bike waiting to begin his lap.
