Steve Hislop will be remembered at a Service of Celebration during the Manx Grand Prix Race week on the Isle of Man. And a permanent tribute to Hislop and David Jefferies will be announced in 2004.
The service will take place at Kirk Braddan Church on Tuesday, August 26. Following the remembrance there will be a tribute fund raiser at the Summerland leisure complex, with bands, a charity auction and videos on big screens.
Funds raised by the event will go to the Steve Hislop memorial fund to help fund lasting memorials to Hizzy, both on The Island and in is home town of Hawick in the Scottish borders.
" Steve was a hero to many people and at next year’s TT I will be announcing permanent tributes to both Steve and David Jefferies, " said David Cretney, Minister for Tourism and Leisure. " In the meantime I am organising these two events with Steve’s close friends on the Island. "
