McGuinness close to TT ride on ex-works Ducati

John McGuinnes is close to clinching a TT ride on a 2002 factory Ducati.

He is in talks to ride Shane Byrne’s 998 British Superbike, which is an ex-Troy Bayliss machine from last season. The deal would help to resurrect his career after Honda dropped him from its plans for 2003.

McGuinnes has already managed to clinch a deal for British Supersport in 2003 with the Chrysalis team, but machinery has yet to be decided.
