World Motocross GP star in coma

1 of 1

Factory KTM rider Pit Beirer remains in an induced coma following a crash at the Bulgarian GP last weekend which seriously injured his back and lungs.

Beirer has been taken off the danger list, but severe damage to his spinal cord means he is unlikely to regain the use of his legs. The induced coma is to allow his lungs to heal over the next three days.

The German parted company with his 250cc bike on the biggest jump at the Bulgarian circuit on Sunday, June 10. The race was won by Stefan Everts.
