R6 Cup entry details announced

The entry details for the 2004 Yamaha R6 Cup have been announced by Yamaha, in conjunction with Virgin Mobile and Rob McElnea Racing. And entries are being accepted at the NEC Motorcycle Show on the R6 stand in the MCN Race Paddock.

The 2003 series led to a BSB ride next season for champion Tommy Hill. It has also received coverage on the Bravo TV channel in the series ‘Natural Born Racers. The 2004 season also offers a Team Virgin Mobile Superbike team contract for the overall winner of the 12 round series. A race prepared practice bike is included as well as the race-prepped R6 allocated for the season, all maintenance and hospitality for all riders.

The series is open to 16-22 year olds. The entry fee is £20,000 plus VAT, and the closing date is December 12. The entry fee is to be paid in instalments, with £2000 due on acceptance by January 9 (All prices are plus VAT). A further £6000 is due on February 29, 2004, April 30, 2004 and June 30, 2004.
