Archibald wins Senior

Lap Four: Adrian Archibald crosses the line to take his second successive Senior win, leading TAS Suzuki team-mate Bruce Anstey by 30.2 seconds at the chequered flag. Gary Carswell finishes third, making it an all Suzuki podium.

Mark Parrett is fourth, Martin Finnegan is fifth, Chris Heath sixth and Guy Martin seventh. Gordon Blackley is eighth, david Bell ninth and Ian Armstrong rounds out the top ten

Lap Three: Adrian Archibald now leads the Senior TT from Bruce Anstey paving the way for a TAS Suzuki one-two, after race leader John McGuinness dropped from the timesheets. McGuinness had been leading the race on a Yamaha R1, but now the first four places are filled by Suzukis, with Paul Hunt third and Gary Carswell fourth. Chris Heath is fifth, Martin Finnegan is sixth and Mark Parrett is seventh. Eighth is Guy Martin, ninth Gordon Blackley and tenth Ian Armstrong.

Reports are that McGuinness has retired at Kirk Michael with a clutch problem

Lap Two: McGuinness is extending his lead on the second lap, despite a marginally slower time of 17 minutes, 50 seconds. He now has a 21.3 second lead over new second-place man Adrian Archibald, who has demoted Ian Lougher to third.

Bruce Anstey has made his way up to fourth place, with Jason Griffiths dropping from the timesheets. Paul Hunt is fifth, Martin Finnegan s sixth and Mark Parrett is seventh. Gary Craswell, Chris Heath and Guy Martin round out the top ten.

Lap One: John McGuinness is leading on the Yamaha R1, with an opening lap of 17 minutes, 47.9 seconds, and an average speed of 127.19 mph. He has a ten second lead over Honda-mounted Ian Lougher and TAS Suziki’s Adrian Archibald.

Jason Griffiths is fourth, locked in a close battle with Bruce Anstey. Paul Hunt is sixth, in front of a close battle for seventh between Mark Parrett, Gary Carswell and Martin Finnegan. Gordon Blackley is in tenth place, almost a minute behind the leader.

Preview: The Senior TT is on today on the Isle of Man, with John McGuinness among the favourites. If he wins it will take his 2004 TT haul to four.

The Senior runs over four laps this year. Last year’s winner, and McGuinness’ team mate Adrian Archibald will have his work cut out to hold off the current man of the meeting.
