World stars at Weston

This year’s Weston Beach Race will feature some of the biggest names in off-road action, including Travis Pastrana and Stefan Everts, alongside WSB rider Chris Walker.

American legend Pastrana is swapping his AMA Motocross, supercross and freestyle stomping grounds for the soggy sands of Somerset for the beach race weekend – October 23-24.

And he’s so up for it that he’s asked organisers if he can take part in every class of racing on the beach. He’s even expected to put on a bit of a freestyle show and drive a monster truck he’s currently having built to his own spec in the U.S. In the main race he’ll be riding a MX GP Suzuki.

Motocross legend Stefan Everts will also compete, fresh from taking an unprecedented eighth world MX title. He’ll be up against Foggy-Petronas WSB rider Chris Walker, and off-roaders Kenny Bartam and Jamie Dobb.

It’s quite a contrast with Peter Day, Greg Day and Ant Gothard’s Flying Farmers effort.

They are taking part dressed as Fresian cows and aim to raise £1000 for a Cystic Fibrosis charity.

Just goes to show the spectacle of the Weston Beach race takes all sorts. Have Your Say, here.
