Molson signs Swanie

Molson Kawasaki has announced that South African teenager Gareth Swanepoel and British rider Tom Church will front Kawasaki UK’s 2005 assault on the world and British MX2 Championships on four-stroke KX250-Fs.

Swanepoel, completed his first full year of Grand Prix racing this season, posting top ten results in several hard fought events.

He was fifth overall at the Irish GP and fourth in the first heat at his home GP in Sun City. He took part in an AMA National championship round at Unadilla, notching eighth in the second moto.

“Swanie” took a 10th and a 4th in the Motocross de Nations in Lierop, too.

Tom Church won the first round of the British Championships, and was a regular points scorer on the GP circuit until a crash in Belgium ended his title hopes. The 22 year old from Marshfield, Wilts, is receiving physio and training hard ahead of the new season.

Having relocated to Belgium for next season, Molson Kawasaki continue testing in January and are set take young Team Green star Tommy Searle under their wing to encourage upcoming British talent.
