Gus Scott auction update

Published: 25 November 2005

In a last-minute change, Chris Walker and Jamie Whitham will be among the stars attending the Gus Scott tribute auction on Saturday, November 27, in place of Neil Hodgson who is unfortunately unable to make the event.

You'll still be able to bid for Hodgson's leathers, which are among the final list of auction items. There's everything from a brand new Buell, to a lap in a BMW course open car at the start of a MotoGP race, to a trip to the 2006 Macau GP on offer.

The event, on Sunday November 27 from 5pm at the Club Amadeus, Northallerton, North Yorks, is being billed as the biggest sale of motorcycling memorabilia outside the Day of Champions.

With signed Rossi items, VIP tickets to race rounds and even motorcyclenews.com E-subs, among the items going under the hammer, the plan is to raise piles of cash for Yasmin, the 11-year-old daughter of popular racer and journalist Gus Scott who was tragically killed in this year’s Senior TT race.

The amount of the signed race clothing, team ware and bodywork reads like a racers’ who’s who. This could, for instance, be the only chance in history you’ll ever get the opportunity to buy Jeremy McWilliam’s Aprilia RS3 Cube bodywork!

There are 83 lots to auction, largely of the kind that money alone can not normally buy. See page two of this story for a full list of the items on offer.
