Haslam leads at Brands

Leon Haslam has lead and Airwaves Ducati 1-2 on the first day of practice for the final round of the British Superbike championship.

He and team-mate Gregorio Lavilla lead the time sheets all day with only HM Plant Honda rider Michael Rutter coming close to them in third place.

John Reynolds had a big fall at the exit of Druids, hitting a tyre wall and injuring himself quite badly. He has been taken to hospital with broken ribs, a punctured lung and a smashed collar bone but is said to be ok.

James Buckingham was called up as his replacement fo rthe race but he two came of the Rizla Suzuki after jus three laps.
