Reed takes AMA SX lead

Yamaha’s Chad Reed has moved into the lead of the AMA Supercross championship as both Ricky Carmichael and James Stewart crashed out of the seventh round at St Louis.

Carmichael tangled with another rider at the start and was unable to continue due to damage to his suspension, pulling out before the second lap. Meanwhile his Suzuki team-mate Ivan Tedesco led the race until the halfway stage, when Reed was able to force his way through.

In the 125cc race, Davi Millsaps took the win from Chris Gosselar and Branden Jesseman.
