Fantasy Road Race 2006 featured three races this Bank Holiday weekend. MotoGP visited Turkey, while two Bennetts British Superbike races came from Oulton Park.

MotoGP rookie Chris Vermeulen took pole and five Road Race points from qualifying, but only led the race for three corners before being passed by Sete Gibernau.

While Valentino Rossi struggled to get back into the race after a poor qualifying session, Marco Melandri took the race win and 25 Road Race points.

Dani Pedrosa was in contention for much of the race, only to lose control on the first corner of the final lap. After remounting he crossed the line in 14th place.

In the Bennetts British Superbike races at Oulton Park, Gregorio Lavilla was again dominant, taking another race double. Together with his third place in qualifying, Lavilla put together another hugely impressive weekend, and 53 points.

In the opening race Shane Byrne provided the biggest obstacle to Lavilla, but was unable to live with the impressive Spaniard. Leon Haslam had taken pole earlier in the weekend, and then third in the first race, but his chances in the latter race were scuppered when he was forced to start from the pit lane.

Karl Harris was Lavilla’s closest challenger in the second race, and although it was a tough battle, the Spaniard was still able to cross the line in first place, to complete his near perfect weekend.

Phil Ratcliffe maintained his position at the top of the Game Month 2 leaderboard, stretching his lead to eight points, while Michael Blackburn sits on top of the overall standings.
