British MXGP

28,000 fans came to Donington Park to watch MX hero Tommy Searle take his first MX2 GP win. It turned out to be a great day for British Motocross when ex-world champion Dave Thorpe added a 4th crown to his collection winning the “Seniors” MX title. There was no luck for Billy Mackenzie after a first corner crash in race two put a end to his chances of the overall. Tony Cairoli (The Rossi of MX) moved up to MX1 to try and help Yamaha keep a grip on the crown by taking the overall. Unfortuantly Josh Coppins had to pull out early in race two because of injury. Donington Park put in a lot of work to pull off a fantastic weekend of racing in its first attempt at the world MX championship.
