Guy Martin to compete in Shorttrack finale

British Superbike rider Guy Martin will have to change his knee sliders for a steel slide shoe as he takes to the dirt for the final round of the Silkolene Shorttrack UK Championship this weekend.

Martin will be riding on the dirt for the first time and will be part of the works CCM Flat Track Team along with former speedway star Rusty Hodgson and Richard May.

There will be strong opposition for Guy in the form of USA Pro Dirt Tracker Brandon Robinson, who won last weekend’s round at Peterborough and the newly crowned 2007 Shorttrack UK Champion, Italian Marco Belli.

There will also be another 40 competitors all wanting some glory in the 12 rider Grand Final. 

Support classes include 1000cc sideways Thunderbikes, Shorttrack Quads and the CCM Junior Championship with 35 races in total.

The Silkolene Shottrack will take place at Mildenhall Stadium, Suffolk IP28 8QU this Saturday evening (September 22, 2007) at 6.30pm.
