Dungey extends Supercross lead with Texan win

Ryan Dungey has extended his AMA Sueprcross championship lead with his second win of the season in from of a packed AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas. Leading from Holeshot Award to chequered flag for a dominant win, the Red Bull KTM rider now leads Ken Roczen by some twelve points.

Roczen was second on the Suzuki, but after a poor start was left with work to do. A battle at quarter distance gave him second place from Davi Millsaps, with the Kawasaki rider crashing out of contention only a lap later, allowing the Honda of Try Canard to inherit third.

“Wins are important. You’re especially going to need them as we get towards the end of the season,” said Dungey after the race. “We’re doing the best we can each week, putting ourselves in a good spot and we need to keep doing that. I got a good start tonight and was able to ride my own race.”

The fast paced season moves to the Georgia Dome In Atlanta for two back to bac weekends starting next Saturday.
