Anderson gives Husqvarna first win in Supercross opener

Jason Anderson has given Husqvarna their first ever win in the AMA Supercross series, after taking victory on the opening night of the season at Anaheim. Anderson chased down the factory Honda of Cole Seeley after a good second start when the red flags were brought out for a crash between reigning champion Ryan Dungey and James Stewart on his return from a drugs ban.

Dungey was fine after the clash, able to make the restart and strong enough to also come through the field and pass Seeley for the runner-up spot, but Stewart, who appeared to lose consciousness in the fall, will face concussion testing ahead of next week’s second round in San Diego.

“I got my first win!” said Anderson.“Tonight at Anaheim 1 was awesome. I got off decent in the first start, but then they red-flagged it so I was a little bummed. My second start was mediocre, but I just started making my way forward and eventually took the win. I’m so pumped. The guys I was passing were waxing me last year, so to even be battling with them was a cool deal.”
