Oulton Park British Superbikes: Karl Harris goes fastest in first practice

Karl Harris was the leading man at Oulton Park in the first free practice for the British Superbikes this afternoon.

The Hydrex Honda rider recorded a best time of 1:48.997 on the final lap of his 11 tours of the Cheshire circuit.

Just behind Harris was HM Plant Honda’s Ryuichi Kiyonari. The current championship leader recorded a best time of 1:49.075. 

Leon Haslam was third fastest this afternoon with a 1:49.278 with Knockhill double winner Jonathan Rea fourth on his Honda.

Karl Harris’ teammate Shane Byrne had been leading the session when it was stopped for more than an hour after an oil trail was dumped on the track by Chris Martin’s Yamaha.
