Alex Camier has signed up to ride for Hawk Kawasaki in the 2008 Superstock 600 Championship.

The younger brother of British Superbike rider Leon Camier rode for Hawk Kawasaki last year at Croft in the full British Superbike team when Peter Hickman was injured.

But after riding with the Hawk junior team in the Supersport Cup for most of last year, he has now graduated to the full Superstock championship.

The team will run under the banner of Bournemouth Kawasaki and Hawk Racing with 19-year-old Camier as the lone rider.

Peter Extance, Managing Director of Bournemouth Kawasaki, said: “We are fully committed to Alex and Hawk Kawasaki and we are very excited about this venture in to racing.

“We had a small involvement for the last two seasons with Gear Link Racing who have been taken on as the official Supersport team in 2008 for Kawasaki.

“We believe that with the package that ourselves and Hawk can offer we will certainly be challenging for top honours in this all new 600 Superstock Cup.”

Alex Camier will begin testing on the Bournemouth Kawasaki ZX6R next week with the Hawk Kawasaki British superbike riders Scott Smart and James Haydon.
