Guintoli's first ride on the Crescent Suzuki British Superbike

Sylvan Guintoli has just completed his first session testing the Crescent Suzuki GSX-R1000 after moving to British Superbikes from MotoGP.

MCN caught up with him as soon as he came in from his first few laps around Brands Hatch to see how he was coping with the move.

“The riding position is very different from what I’m used to on the Ducati MotoGP bike I rode this year,” said Guintoli.

“On that bike it feels like you are more sat in it while on the GSX-R you feel like you are sat on top rather than in the bike. I expected it to feel a bit like this after testing the Yamaha R1 at Valelunga a month ago and that felt the same.

“I like the brakes and suspension but the weather is sill very damp so I dont really want to be pushing too hard.

“We might soften up the fron at a little bit because it is a bit firm and I’m getting very little feel from the front end but I really like the traction control.

“The only problem is I can’t hear the sound of the engine – I think it’s because the Ducati MotoGp bike has defened me slightly.

“But I am really enjoying the bike and looking forward to the rest of the day.”
