MCE Insurance backs BSB

It’s not just riders on different bikes giving BSB fresh impetus. BSB also has a new title sponsor, MCE Insurance, starting at Brands Hatch in two weeks time and lasting until the end of the 2012 season.

The sponsorship underlines confidence in the series, despite the underlying financial crisis gripping the entire world.

It comes following series owner Motor Sport Vision’s exploratory entry into the insurance sector earlier in the year and subsequent introduction to MCE, the UK bike insurance provider who was recently awarded the accolade of Personal Lines Broker of the Year at the prestigious British Insurance Awards.

The deal strengthens MCE’s growing involvement in motorcycle racing sponsorship with the MCN Fantasy Racing League already in full swing with backing from the insurance company.

MSVR Chief Executive Jonathan Palmer said: “I’m delighted that MCE Insurance will be the title sponsor of the 2009-2012 British Superbike Championship.

“BSB provides the greatest promotional platform for any bike-related product in the UK already and MCE have confirmed this with their long-term commitment and determination to use it in their strategy to become the UK’s number one provider of bike insurance.”

The inaugural MCE Insurance BSB event takes place at Brands Hatch on August 9, featuring the first ever BSB “triple-header” and a track appearance by Grand Prix legend Giacomo Agostini.
