Buildbase sign Lowry

Ian Lowry is a late addition to the Buildbase BMW team and will ride a superbike alongside John Laverty in BSB.

Lowry said: “I’m over the moon. Team owner Stuart Hicken has a great team with stacks of experience and BMW is a great manufacturer to be with.”

Lowry was BSB rookie of the year riding a Suzuki in 2009 but a planned 2010 Moto2 ride in Spain fell apart before his 2010 season started.

Lowry briefly rode for Motorpoint Yamaha in BSB before joining the factory Kawasaki team at the tail-end of the WSB season.

The Buildbase BMW team will also field Barry Burrell in BSB Evo and Richard Cooper in National Superstock.
