Coghlan in British Supersport

Britain’s Kev Coghlan will return to the BSB paddock at the next round of the British Supersport Championship at Oulton Park (July 15-17) as he rejoins the Colin Appleyard/Macadam Racing team whilst Jack Kennedy remains sidelined through injury.

Coghlan has previously raced in the British 125GP Championship and competed in the British Supersport class with the Appleyard squad before a spell in the Spanish CEV Buckler Championship.

He joined Moto2 this season. However after recently splitting with his team he will make a much-anticipated return to the grid next weekend. Kennedy is still recovering from the injuries he sustained at Thruxton, but after visiting Snetterton last weekend he is targeting a return at the Brands Hatch event.

Coghlan said: “It is great to be getting back on a bike again and I spoke to Robin and the team about racing for them after I split with my Moto2 team and it has all come together. I enjoyed racing with them before when I did a few rounds of British Supersport and although I haven’t ridden a Supersport bike since then I am looking forward to it.

“I have seen some of the races this season when I can as I have been living in Spain and with the rule changes and two races now it has been pretty exciting. I hope that we can have a good round next weekend and then go from there.”
