Lowes back with WFR Honda

Alex Lowes has returned to Team WFR Honda for 2012 and will line-up in a three-man team alongside Graeme Gowland and James Westmoreland.

Lowes had three sensational meetings for the team in BSB Evo at the start of this year but parted company after refusing to sign a long-term management contract with them.

He subsequently rode for MSS Kawasaki and Motorpoint Yamaha in BSB and Castrol Honda in WSB but a series of crashes meant he never lived up to the potential he had shown on WFR’s Evo bike.

Lowes left the team after the third round of the 2011 BSB series because he didn’t want to sign a long-term management contract with the team but cleared the air with team boss Myles Schofield at Silverstone in September.

“We both apologised for how things turned out. It cleared the air and was water under the bridge. But I never expected am opportunity to ride for them again,” said Lowes.
But now he’s back with the team and looking forward to the new season.

“I was looking for a good ride when Myles asked me if I’d be interested in going back. There was never a problem with the bike or the team so why wouldn’t I? The Honda suits me and working with Colin Davis (crew chief) was good for me. I just need to rediscover my consistency and I know we can do well.”
