An official Splitlath Redmond team press statement has announced that the Aprilia BSB team has parted company with Florian Marino.

The statement reads: “The Splitlath Redmond team has parted company with young French rider Florian Marino.

The 19-year-old from Cannes joined the team at the start of this season to make his Superbike debut after a successful 2011 in the World Supersport Championship.

Splitlath Redmond team co-owner John Dimbylow said: “We are sad to see Florian go, but we think that this is the best move for him at this time.

“Florian is much liked by all of the team and we have parted on the best of terms.

“Personally I will miss the boy very much, he has a terrific personality and his humour entertains me all day long, he’d become like family to me.

“Florian will return to World Supersport and will be competing in Brno at the next round. He is an unbelievable young talent whom we hope to work again with at some stage in his career.”

Co-owner Derek Redmond added: “I’m very sorry to see Florian go. The guy is a huge talent and we’ve all enjoyed working with him but I think we all agree this is the best for him right now.

“We will all miss him and hope our paths cross again soon. We wish him the very best for the rest of the season.”

The team has not yet announced a replacement rider.
