Graeme Gowland riding the Seton Tuning Yamaha ended the opening day of the track action at Brands Hatch at the top of the timesheets in Free Practice 2.

The 27-year-old was the only man to dip into the 47s bracket with a 47.972 at the 1.2079 mile Brands Hatch Indy circuit.

Speaking to MCN, Gowland said: “It was good to get time on the bike as we’ve got a busy day tomorrow with qualifying and a race. As well as being cold there was a lot of wind today which was really pushing the front through Surtees and Clearways.”

“It’s going to be an awesome season in Supersport, I love the class and there are so many fast riders. I think there are 12 guys out there that can win races.”

The closely fought session saw the top men trading places throughout with Billy McConnell second onboard his Smiths Racing Triumph with Gearlink Kawasaki team-mates Alistair Seeley and Ben Wilson in third and fourth respectively.
